Effects of Lemon Haze

Where a heavy indica pushes you onto the couch, this sativa does the opposite: you feel more energetic than sluggish. Many people use it for creative work, a walk, or just a pleasant afternoon.

Not used to it? Then start with a small amount, because the high THC content makes the effect come on faster than you might think. Build up slowly and see how your body reacts. The energy usually lasts well for one to two hours and then tapers off gently, without the heavy crash you feel with some other strains. Many people especially appreciate that they remain clear-headed and approachable.

THC content and potency

The THC content is usually between 19 and 22 percent, which makes it a potent strain. The CBD content is low, under 1 percent, so the effect is clearly noticeable and predominantly psychoactive. As a result, Lemon Haze is better suited for those who already have some experience and are looking for a strong, clear high rather than for those who prefer something milder.

The high is also primarily cerebral: you notice it more in your head than in your body. Note that the exact potency varies per harvest, so one batch may be slightly stronger than another.

Flavor and aroma

The name already gives it away. You immediately taste and smell a pronounced lemon aroma, with a sweet and lightly spicy undertone and the typical fresh haze sharpness. That flavor mainly comes from the terpene limonene, complemented by terpinolene. It is one of the most recognizable flavor profiles you encounter in the sativa segment, and exactly the reason why so many people keep returning to it.

Origin and genetics

This strain is a cross between Lemon Skunk and Silver Haze. Lemon Skunk provides the pronounced citrus profile, and Silver Haze the clear effect and strong potency. Those two together explain why the strain has been a reliable favorite for years, both in taste and effect.

It is a true classic that you will find in virtually every good collection. In Dutch coffeeshops this strain quickly became popular because of its combination of flavor and potency, and since then it has become indispensable.

Use and storage

Do you want to preserve the flavor and potency for as long as possible? Store your weed cool, dark, and airtight, preferably in a glass jar. Too much light, heat, or air causes the terpenes to dissipate, and it is those terpenes that give this strain its fresh citrus flavor.

When properly stored, the quality remains nicely maintained for months. Also, if you grind your weed just before use, the aromas stay strongest.

Who is Lemon Haze suitable for?

This sativa is at its best for those who, during the day or in company, are looking for an energetic, uplifting strain and enjoy a fresh citrus flavor. Because of its potency it is less suitable as an evening or sleep strain, or for those who prefer something more relaxing.
